I followed all the directions for setting up Eclipse and the developer tools, but honestly when I start to do any work such as the first steps in the helloworld app, Eclipse just freezes on my machine and uses about 25% CPU without returning any results. I have plenty of RAM on my local machine 8GB and I'm running 64bit Windows 7 on a i5 processor. The performance of the eclipse IDE even in the local install steps is extremely poor. I'm not sure if my corporate anti-virus is not playing nicely, but regardless this setup is not the 5 minutes as advertised once downloaded.
If anyone has any ideas on how to prevent the freezing from eclispe from freezing it would be appreciated. I'm stuck on step one where you create the dynamic web project and eclipse just freezes. I just find it fascinating we have to use very large resource intensive client side tools for cloud development.
Take care,
Stephen
